Thousands and thousands of moons ago there was this young warrior and he in love with a young maiden princess. The young maiden parents and the young warriors parents didn't agree and their love had been forbidden. One day the young couple agreed to meet at the mulberry tree and run away together. That night the maiden princess got there first . Shortly after the young warrior had arrived only to find that the Princess had been killed by a mountain lion. As he cried, his tears washed her blood onto the mulberry tree trunk turning the mulberries from white to red. The young warrior never found anyone that could take her place and died of a broken heart.
